1985
Harry Merrick founds agency.It has three employees, one client and practically no space.
1988
We move into our first real office space.
1989
Acquire our first graphics computer.
1990
Glenn Towle joins MTC as an accounting assistant.
1993
We add our lucky thirteenth employee.
1996
Glenn Towle becomes an agency partner (see 1990).
1997
Expand into the Boston, South Florida and Chicago markets, launching our quest for total world domination.
1998
Add both multimedia and interactive capabilities.
1999
Move into even larger quarters.
2000
Deftly survive the over-hyped Y2K scare. All without having to move into our fortified Idaho compound.
2001
We clean up at the NAHB Pillar Awards for the first time—but far from the last.
2002
Add first international clients.
2003
We begin re-tooling the Merrick Towle Communications brand.
2004
The Merrick Towle Communications staff grows to 40 employees.
2005
Celebrating our 20th anniversary!
2006
We move into our new headquarters, filling MTspace with over 60 motivated marketing professionals. Never satisfied, we also open satellite offices in Atlanta and South Florida.
2007
Merrick Towle named 1st largest independent agency in the metropolitan Washington area by the Washington Business Journal.
2008
Now up to more than 70 employees, all of whom seem pretty happy to be here based on our “Best Place to Work” award from Corridor – Careers.
